Short description of the concept

This project presents an interactive digital storytelling experience dedicated to Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela), a unique man-made island and cultural heritage site located in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. The goal is to preserve and present its history, traditions, and legends through a modern, immersive experience.

The concept includes kiosk-style spaces with touchscreen displays that allow visitors to explore the origins, construction, and cultural significance of the island through a point-and-click adventure. Users take the role of a fisherman and discover stories connected to important historical figures, local legends, maritime traditions, and artworks, such as the embroidery of Jacinta Kunić Mijović and the paintings of Tripo Kokolja.

The experience combines 2.5D digital illustrations, sound design, interactive storytelling, and recycled-material souvenirs to create an educational and memorable visit. The kiosks are designed to be accessible, phone-free, and powered by renewable energy.

The project targets tourists, families, students, historians, and anyone interested in cultural heritage. It aims to bring local traditions closer to audiences of all generations, improve accessibility, and contribute to the preservation of Montenegro’s cultural identity through digital technology.

The interdisciplinary team consists of students from architecture, graphic design, and multimedia fields, combining skills in spatial design, visual communication, storytelling, and digital media to create an authentic and engaging cultural experience.
